We have put together a list of parents most frequently asked questions and we hope you will find them useful.  Of course if you have any additional questions, please do not hestitate to contact us either by phone or e-mail.

What should my child bring with them to Pre School?

Lunch box/bag, drink bottle, a piece of fruit/vegetable each week for the snack bowl.  At least one full change of clothes, more if toilet training, in their book bag.  Sun hats, suncream for spring/summer.  Outdoor coat, all-in-one/wet suit, wellington boots, warm hat, scarf, waterproof gloves for autumn/winter.  Please clearly label all of your child's belongings with their full name.

Do I need to provide nappies?

Yes, please ensure there are sufficient nappies, bags and wipes.

What is the settling in period?

We offer a two week settling in period, where you will have the opportunity to come along during these weeks. You will stay and play with your child, then gradually the key person, as the secondary attachment figure, will help support your child and start to build up a relationship with you and your child.

If I need my child to leave the setting, what is the notice period?

We require four weeks notice period.

Is there an outdoor space?

Yes, we have a free-flow system in our immediate outdoor space, where there are plenty of opportunities for your child to explore richly sourced areas within the space.  Such as  our play house, our herb garden, the mud kitchen, a large water play station and outdoor sandpit, our vegetable and growing garden, large climbing tractor tyres, our sunken slide, and visit our viewing deck to admire the views from the top of our banked garden zone.

Additionally, we run forest school sessions and the children have regular walks around the local community, parks and recreational grounds. The children also visit the local primary school.

How will I be informed of my child's development?

We use 'Tapestry', an on-line record of your child's development. You can easily access this from your phone or computer and you will be asked to contribute your thoughts, ideas and needs. However, there's nothing better than a face-to-face chat...something we can arrange with you. These will be agreed with your child's key person, who can put them into practice.

We will work in partnership to support your child through key developmental stages, such as potty training, supporting behaviour and new siblings.

Do you accept government funded childcare?

Yes, we accept children in receipt of two-year-old funding, and, for children starting the first full term after their third birthday, the 15hrs and 30hrs of funding.
